The O2 – Creation of the new Premier Lounge

 PROJECT OVERVIEW

RME Services Ltd were contracted under JCT terms and conditions to install the mechanical and electrical fit out services to the new O2 Premier Lounge Area.

The area where the works took place was initially a concrete shell on the first floor with landlord’s service feeds penetrating the room at various locations for the sprinkler, electricity and water mains. A complete design and installation service has been completed to achieve the finished product.

In summary, works consisted of the following:

Design & installation of lighting & power, plumbing, hot water services, fire alarm, sprinklers, sanitary ware, waste services and mood lighting. Integral to the design was the introduction of energy saving lighting and the reduction of water waste through the use of LED lighting and automatic sensing.

WC’s for male, female and disabled users were installed. A fully concealed system of drainage and hot and cold water services were installed behind a range of false walls and bespoke panelling. Hot water has been provided utilising local point of use water heaters. White Italian sanitary ware has been installed with fully automatic flushing sensors and automated taps with blending valves maintaining the water temperature.

Lighting has been specifically designed to provide general amenity, task and striking mood lighting. Task lighting has been provided to illuminate graphics, signage and the stage area all dimmable from local area controls. Blue LED linear lighting has been installed along a purpose built ceiling detail to provide an uplit shadow detail, in the company corporate colour. This really does create a wow factor when you enter the area with minimal energy use.

Power and distribution has been installed to feed all aspects of the lounge’s requirements. These range from the passenger lift and fire alarm to the dedicated socket outlets that are provided for the use of client’s laptops.

Fire protection for the area has been afforded by sprinklers and a fully addressable voice fire alarm system. The fire alarm system comprises of an analogue addressable fire panel with automatic heat and smoke detection providing two stage initiation. The sprinkler system is installed throughout the concealed ceiling void and below the suspended ceiling level. The sprinkler valve is also interfaced with the O2 fire system.

Plumbing services were installed to the bar and food preparation areas, complete with local point of use hot water heaters and feeds to the glass washers, sinks, dishwasher etc.

Energy metering on all services were installed throughout to cater for the future implementation of efficiency saving strategies.

Following the completion of these works on time and to budget, the Premier Lounge opened for business in time for the ATP World Tour Finals Tennis Championship providing hospitality and relaxation for it’s valued customers.
