Remuneration / Salary:
Generally a qualified Electrical Technician will earn from £29K+, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Overview:

We are looking to employ an Electrical Technician to support our current electrical team.

Applicants should be qualified to City and Guilds and have been time served on site within the industry. This is a working role with elements of Supervision and liaison with Management with input into the design and management of works. The role also requires the overseeing of work carried out by electricians to ensure it is completed to the latest regulations and up to the company’s high standards. Once a year in conjunction with RME’s NICEIC qualifying Manager you will be responsible for escorting the NIC inspector around sites to ensure RME withholds it’s accreditation. Any applicant should have good experienced in commercial electrical work and have carried out a supervisory role in the past. You should be able to manage your time affectively and be able to ensure completion deadlines are met  Any applicant must be fully conversant with products and materials associated with their role and be able to obtain quotations and order materials as required. Applicants should also be able to operate a smart device such as an iphone or similar as our work order systems are operated digitally.

Our works are within and around the M25, focused on London and the South-East. Any applicant should be self-motivated, flexible and able to manage their time effectively. Our clients include Government buildings, the MOD, the Police and the private sector. Security clearance will be required for this position.  You must be trustworthy, a good time keeper and have a willingness to work both as part of a team or as an individual. RME runs a comprehensive training programme for its employees which you would be required to participate in as and when training requirements are identified such as, testing, first aid, asbestos awareness, trade skills development such as the forthcoming 18th edition and more, SSSTS etc. You would be supported by and reporting directly to one of our Contracts Managers.

Experience Required:

Candidates should have experience of SWA cables, cable containment, pvc cables, fault finding, testing, lighting, power and general electrical skills. At times you could be working alone or supervising others and you should be confident about making decisions and solving problems on site effectively and to a satisfactory standard.
Qualifications Required:
Electrical, City and Guilds preferred.
Qualifications Desirable: (not essential) Testing, NIC Qualifying Manager, IPAF, PASMA
General Information:
Due to the clients that we work with and the contracts we work upon, it is critical that you obtain security clearance and this will be a condition of your future employment. This vacancy therefore is only open to those who have been resident in the UK for at least 2 years and who do not have a criminal record.

The job requires driving a company vehicle throughout the South-East and London so knowledge of London is therefore an advantage however not mandatory. Ideally any candidate would be located near our Farnham offices although the outskirts of London in the West or South would be acceptable.
